Nana Mizuki set to release next Blu-ray in 『Clips』 series!

Famous voice actress and singer Nana Mizuki—known for popular anime such as Basilisk, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and Rosario + Vampire—announced she will be releasing the next set in her very popular Nana Clips series with Nana Clips 8, set for release on both Blu-Ray and DVD March 20. This release will include music videos from her vast music library starting from Mizuki’s 34th single “STARTING NOW” to her latest, “NEVER SURRENDER”. Also included will be several making-ofs along with all the CM that were used to advertise the singles!

Hiragana Keyakizaka46 is reborn as Hinatazaka46

It was announced today that Hiragana Keyakizaka46 will be changing their name to “Hinatazaka46”. Up until now there were two groups that went by Keyakizaka46; the only difference between the two was how the names were spelled in Japanese.

The main group that is normally discussed among fans of Keyakizaka46 is spelled 欅坂46 (the entire name—sans the number, of course—is written in Kanji). Conversely, the sister group of the same name is spelled けやき坂46. In this instance, only the first word is spelled out with Hiragana. This name sharing has led to some confusion causing some people to believe that both groups were, in fact, a single group.

けやき坂46 will perform a concert at Yokohama Arena March 5-6 and release a brand new single March 27 under their new name. Check out their latest single, “Happy Aura”, below to build hype for the new one (pre-order it here)!

Sumire Uesaka shows off different side in upcoming single

Popular voice actress-turned-singer Sumire Uesaka announced a brand new single titled “ ボン▽キュッ▽ボンは彼のモノ▽” (“Bon▽Kyu▽Bon ha Kare no Mono▽”), set for release April 17. “Bon▽Kyu▽Bon ha Kare no Mono▽” will be used as the opening theme song for the anime 『なんでここに先生が!?』Naze de Koko ni Senseiga!?, which Uesaka stars in. It is written by composer Kiyoshi Ryujin.

The single will contain two tracks, each including an off-vocal track version of the songs—totaling to four tracks. It will also release with three different editions: a standard edition, a limited edition which will include a DVD copy of the music video, and an anime edition which will include a special CD jacket based on the show.

POLTA uploads music video for "SAIGO NO DRIVE" ("さいごのドライブ") from second album 『LOVE TO DIE』

Indie band POLTA is back with a new music video for their song “SAIGO NO DRIVE” (“さいごのドライブ”). The duo, which consists of members Onae Ai and Fukuda Suguru, uploaded the music video onto YouTube Februrary 9.

”SAIGO NO DRIVE” (“さいごのドライブ”) comes off of POLTA’s second full album LOVE TO DIE, which was released last January.

Matching the feel of the song’s lyrics, the video, directed by Sakurayashiki Tomonao, features actors Takeuchi Oto and Keisuke Shibuya in a drama-like setting.

TWICE announces amazing extras for upcoming Best-Of album!

Popular Korean girl group TWICE announced the release of their second best album #TWICE2, scheduled for release March 6. #TWICE2 will include hit songs such as “LIKEY”, “What is Love?”, and “YES or YES”, totaling it up to ten tracks. The album will also be released with two limited editions, with Type A including an eighty-page photobook and Type B including a DVD copy of several music videos and the making of the music videos.
