SEKAI NO OWARI recruits special guest for song “Star Gazer”!

Four-member pop band SEKAI NO OWARI released the music video for their upcoming song “Star Gazer” on their official YouTube. “Star Gazer” will be included in SEKAI’s newest album Eye, set for release February 27 with a total of thirteen songs.

“Star Gazer” enlisted popular girl band Keyakizaka46’s Yurina Hirate as the focal point of the music video, showing off her impressive dance skills under the moonlight in a rebellious role. Along with Eye, SEKAI NO OWARI will also be releasing another other album, Lip, which will also be released with a thirteen-song track list as a double release along with Eye. Both albums will include a limited edition DVD set, with Eye including SEKAI’s “Outdoor TOUR 2018「INSOMNIA TRAIN」（Skypa ! Episode)” concert and with Lip Including the music videos from the album.

Indie Corner Week 30: Bright Lucy Television

Bright Lucy Television is a five-member pop rock band that serves listeners a fresh take on jazz for the next generation. While older fans of the genre might not agree with their interesting spin on it, one has to admit that it’s an exciting evolution with the capability of reeling in newer listeners. An example of such an enticing song would be “Naked”; with Fumika’s uplifting and calming vocals coupled with keyboardist Cammy’s amazing melody, listeners are slowly ensnared by the track’s charm to hit repeat over and over again.

Currently Bright Lucy Television has one single, “Naked”, released September 2018, with a digital single “Sculpture”, released December 2018.

Aya Kamiki to hold first overseas live concert!

Pop-rock singer Aya Kamiki announced via her official Twitter and Instagram that she will be performing live on the main stage at Naka-Kon March 15 and 16. This performance will be unique, as she’ll be performing a one-man live. Naka-Kon is a 3-day anime convention held every year in Kansas City, Missouri. This will not only be Aya Kamiki’s first live performance in the US, but also her first live overseas performance! Kamiki-san is known for her cover of the B’z song “Pierrot” and for her songs ”もう君だけを離したりはしない” (“Mou Kimi Dake wo Hanashitatari wa Shinai”) and “Summer Memories”, the ending theme songs for the famous Detective Conan (Case Closed) series .

smokebees preview new song “Miyoko” from upcoming album 『Imaginary Lights Never Fade』

Experimental indie pop band smokebees previewed a new song on SoundCloud from their upcoming first full album Imaginary Lights Never Fade. The album is scheduled for release March 20.

For those unfamiliar, smokebees is a two member home-recording unit whose namesake references the band Sparklehorse. smokebees consists of Taku Sudo of desksnail and Miki Hirose of Girl President, with me!, tonight?.

Imaginary Lights Never Fade will consist of nine brand new songs along with the previously unreleased “World Is Yours”, and also a full-band arrangement of “Begin Again”, which was originally released on their Sunstroke EP.

The release will also feature guest appearances by Ikemizu Mayumi (Three Berry Icecream, bridge) and fumi (yule).

Torio Ohashi previews his dulcet tones for his upcoming album!

Vocalist Torio Ohashi dropped a trailer for his upcoming album THUNDERBIRD on Avex’s official YouTube channel. THUNDERBIRD is set for release February 13 with ten tracks total. An analogue version of the album is scheduled for release later in April. The album will also release with a DVD/Blu-ray edition which will include Ohashi’s Hall Tour concert in the fabled NHK Hall.
