trackmaker Tomggg releases remix EP of hit song ‘ICHIGO MIRUKU’ featuring Filipino singer ena mori!

With his uniquely original sound, Japanese trackmaker Tomggg is attracting attention from music fans around the world. Now, Tomggg has released an EP stacked with remixes of his hit song ‘ICHIGO MIRUKU’ featuring ena mori, the Filipino singer who took the No.1 spot in NME’s Best Asian Albums of 2022 list.

Originally released in April this year, ‘ICHIGO MIRUKU’ is sung in a mix of English and Japanese, and its lively and fun depiction of a girl lost in Tokyo synchronizes perfectly with Tomggg’s precise, unique beats. The song’s idiosyncratic pop sound caught the ears of many music fans, and it quickly began to receive high acclaim. 

In June, audio stems of ‘ICHIGO MIRUKU’ were made freely available to anyone who wanted to use them, and this remix collection includes seven amazing songs by creators who used those stems to make their own tracks. Tomggg himself selected the remixes from over 70 submissions, each of which are uniquely original, creating an impressive collection of songs that convey the various perspectives and talents of each artist.

Boyband MA55IVE THE RAMPAGE have released their first ever CD single. Released Wednesday, September 13, the CD features two songs, including the freshly recorded new track ‘INVADERZ’, while the DVD includes MA55IVE’s first ever music video! It also features three live videos from the concert event THE SURVIVAL 2022 ~BALLISTIK BOYZ vs MA55IVE~ × PSYCHIC FEVER held in Japan in 2022, making it a must-see.

MA55IVE THE RAMPAGE is a unit comprising five members who are also performers in THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE: LIKIYA, Kenta Kamiya, Shogo Yamamoto, Shohei Urakawa and Takahide Suzuki. They express their own original style based on hip-hop and R&B.

The group have kept busy active since their formation in 2019. They have released six digital singles and three Music Cards (collectible cards that include a music download code), and the members led by LIKIYA take turns to appear on the weekly block.fm program ‘RMPG DOPE STATION’, where they introduce the latest music chart.

PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE has set the stage ablaze with their latest single, ‘FIRE’. The latest collaborative single that features Thai rapper, SPRITE, ‘FIRE’ is now available on all major digital streaming platforms.

Collaborating with SPRITE, who is one of the youngest rappers in Thailand to date to be in the Global Billboard charts, the members of PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TIRBE shared that they have wanted to do this collaboration for the past six months during their activities in Thailand. Emphasizing their dedication and determination during the recording sessions and music video production, the group believed that this collaboration embodies a "unique and explosive chemistry" between PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE and SPRITE.

‘FIRE feat. SPRITE’ is the second collaboration in partnership with Thailand’s entertainment company, HIGH CLOUD ENTERTAINMENT. Music Corner Week 139: Shin Sakiura

Shin Sakiura got his start in the Japanese Music industry working in Tokyo as a music producer and guitarist. Sakiura would work on songs for many different artists, the genre didn’t really matter. He also worked on music for Music Videos and commercials for apparel brands and companies. Sakiura spent his childhood in a home where UK rock music was played on a daily basis, which led to him picking up the guitar in junior high school. In high school, he formed a cover band that would play songs from bands like ELLEGARDEN and Straightener. In 2017, Sakiura started fully focusing on his own music career and released his first album, Mirror. In that same year he met fellow Music Corner alumni SIRUP and, since then, has supported live performances as a guitar manipulator, and participated in several works by arranging and composing songs. In 2019 Sakiura released his second album, Dream, and performed his first one-man live to celebrate the release. Sakiura has since gone on to release two more albums for a total of four, and a combined total of 36 EPs, singles, and digital releases.

The years Sakiura spent working for others have really helped him grow as an artist and let him apply many of the lessons he learned over the years to his own music. Sakiura has this great ability to write amazing compositions, his song “Universe” is really good, as it starts with this lovely acoustic guitar, and then the bass suddenly drops with the drums kicking in. “Universe” is only one minute long, but he uses it to the fullest and leaves a lasting impression on the listener. “Parachute” (Feat. Wez Atlus) is really good and has a catchy rhythm to it. It also has a lot of English in the song, so that makes it win points for me. Lastly, his song “Sleepless” (Feat. Matton) is a nice, laid-back, and chill number that relaxes the listener.
