Madkid debuts at Crunchyroll Expo

The Rising of the Shield Hero has turned out to be one of the biggest hit anime of 2019 so far and as a result, Crunchyroll is celebrating it this year at Crunchyroll Expo. They have several people involved with the show attending this event including five-member pop group Madkid who provided the opening to both halves of the show. The expo will kick off Thursday night August 28 and is set to run all weekend to September 1.

The Rising of the Shield Hero is about a boy who is whisked away to another world wherein he is one of four legendary heroes. Each hero has a special weapon and protagonist Naofumi is cursed with the shield, which has a bad reputation so he is forced to overcome a lot on his own.

If you are planning on attending the Crunchyroll Expo and have never heard of Madkid you can check out their music video for “Rise” which was the first opening for The Rising of the Shield Hero.

BiS involves fans with interesting way of debuting music video!

Popular alt-idol group BiS’s third generation dropped the music video for their upcoming track “BiS-どうやらゾンビのおでまし-“ (“BiS-Douyara Zombie no Odemashi-”), on their official YouTube channel. “BiS-Douyara Zombie no Odemashi-” will be the lead track for the group’s upcoming album Brand-new idol Society which drops August 14.

In an interesting campaign the entire music video is blurred with a mosaic filter, locking visibility of the members and layout of the video. Through Twitter, each group member must attain a total of 15,000 followers for the “true”, uncensored version of the music video to appear. The group also set up tiers for the video, stating that if members reach a total of only 13,000 followers, only half of the members will be “unlocked”, with the other half unlocked after 14,000 followers is reached. The members commented on the marketing saying that they think it a great idea and keeps the music video very dramatic. They also commented that they will have fun checking to see if the true version will finally be revealed.

As previously reported, Brand-new idol Society will drop with only a CD-only standard edition with thirteen tracks total. In the meantime check out the music video in question along with the pre-order links for Brand-new idol Society below!

Aimer lights the way with preview of upcoming single!

Popular vocalist Aimer dropped a sneak peek of the music video for her upcoming track “Torches” on her official YouTube channel. As previously reported the single will be dropped August 14 and will be used as the ending theme for NHK’s action anime Vinland Saga. The music video carries the nuances of the world in which the anime is set and mixes images of water and fire, making this visually stunning piece stand out from Aimer’s previous work.

The preview also includes clip-pits of “Torches” B-side tracks “Blind to you” and “Daisy” along with live versions of “Black Bird” and “I beg you”, which took place during the Shanghai portion of Aimer’s “soleil et pluie” Asian Tour earlier in the year.

“Torches” will drop with three editions: a standard CD-only edition, a CD + DVD limited pressing edition, and a CD + DVD limited edition. The limited editions will include the music videos for “Torches” and several other tracks. The limited pressing edition, however, will also include a “no credit” version of the Vinland Saga ending movie, an additional TV-sized version of “Torches”, plus special packaging featuring Vinland Saga.
