May J. celebrating Heisei era with special cover album!

May J., a Japanese pop vocalist and hostess of the NHK show J-MELO, announced that she will be releasing a new cover album April 27 bearing the name Heisei Love Song Covers supported by DAM. This album will feature famous love songs from the Heisei era including “First Love”, “M”, “LOVERS AGAIN”, and more!

There will be a total of fifteen songs, although the track order has yet to be determined. There will be two editions: a 2-CD + DVD edition and a CD-only standard edition. The 2-CD + DVD edition will include a bonus CD that features her May J. 2018 ~Harmony~ tour and a DVD containing music videos. Suchmos teases something extra for newest album!

After an amazing first showing in the Kohaku, six-member fusion rock band Suchmos announced a brand new original album mysteriously titled THE ANYMAL, which is set for release March 27. THE ANYMAL will be the latest original album dropped by the band since the release of THE KIDS back in 2017 and will be the third overall. The album will feature recently released track “WATER” and include twelve tracks in total.

 THE ANYMAL will release with two different editions: a CD-only standard edition and a CD + DVD limited edition which will include a small recording documentary titled Join Us And Go Somewhere Nice. Suchmos dropped a small teaser for said documentary on their official YouTube which you can preview to the right.

back number is bringing MAGIC back with their new album!

back number, a three-piece Japanese rock band under Universal Music Japan, is set to release their album MAGIC March 27!! MAGIC will be their first studio album since the release of Chandelier four years ago and is set to release with twelve tracks total.

MAGIC will come in five luxurious editions: CD + 2-DVD limited edition or CD + Blu-ray limited edition (Type A), CD + DVD limited edition or CD + Blu-ray limited edition (Type B), and a standard CD-only edition. Both Type A editions will feature their dome tour 2018 “stay with you” at Tokyo Dome, the music videos for five of their songs, and a making-of special photo book of their upcoming tour! Both Type B editions will feature the music videos for five of their songs.

Tamura Meimi brings first mini-album!

Tamura Meimi is a Japanese pop vocalist and former member of the idol group ANGERME, along with a part of the mega idol group Hello! Project. Tamura was part of the second generation of ANGERME and graduated from the group in 2016. Her first mini-album as a solo artist, Sprout, will be released March 20! Sprout will have two editions: a CD + DVD limited edition and a standard CD-only edition. The limited edition will feature Tamura-san’s one-man live concert “Meimei Hakusho”.

Sphere comes back to celebrate 10 years

Pop idol group Sphere is coming back for their ten-year anniversary. Back in 2017 the group as a whole decided to take some time off to recharge their energy. Well, on February 16 Sphere’s hiatus officially came to an end; for two days Sphere put on a concert in Chiba to kick off the celebration. It was then revealed that on March 8 there will be a new studio album out titled 10s.

10s (pronounced “tense”) will be launched with both a standard and limited edition. The limited edition of 10s will include a Blu-ray and a photo book. Be sure to check out the full track list below if you want to see what all will appear on the album.

It was also announced that Sphere will be going on tour. Coined “Sphere 10th Anniversary Live Tour 2019 ‘A10tion!’”, the tour will run from September 7 through October 27.
