Perfume's FUTURE POP tour coming to Blu-ray and DVD!

Japanese pop trio Perfume announced that their seventh tour FUTURE POP 2018 is coming to Blu-ray and DVD April 8! The FUTURE POP 2018 concert chosen for this release was held at Yokohama Arena this past December 12. Perfume 7th Tour 2018 FUTURE POP will include four luxurious editions. It will come in a Blu-ray and DVD limited edition version and a standard version; the limited edition includes six songs shot in different angles—such as panoramic ones focusing on each member—plus a complete version of “TOKYO GIRL” discussed by the members during the concerts. The limited edition will also come housed in a deluxe box with stickers. The standard edition will simply include the concert held at Yokohama Arena.

Jupiter brings new album and announces European tour!

Jupiter, a four-member visual kei band, is bringing their third album titled Zeus - Legends Never Die- April 3!! Zeus -Legends Never Die- will be released in two editions: a CD + DVD limited edition and a standard CD-only edition. The limited edition will contain music videos for “Zeus I. Legends Never Die” and “Show must go on”.

Jupiter announced that they will be doing a European tour lovingly titled Zeus Tour -EUROPE-starting in May. They will have ten shows in six countries; for those interested, we have listed all six countries and the official site to visit and buy tickets from for Jupiter’s tour!

Shibata Satoko debuts flower-filled music video for new song “Namida”

Rising indie pop singer-songwriter Shibata Satoko is back again with yet another music video, this time for her new song “Namida”, which was uploaded on the P-Vine YouTube channel.

Directed by Shota Sakamoto, who previously also worked on the music video for one of Shibata’s previous singles ”「後悔」” (“Koukai”), the cute and colorful music video features a bespectacled Shibata singing in a red sweater in front of a flowery, almost psychedelic CGI backdrop. The feel of the video is a great match for  the warm and gentle, blossoming progression of the groove in the song itself.

The last time we wrote about Shibata was back in November for the release of her single “Wankoromeetaa”.

With the release of her upcoming album 「がんばれ！メロディー」(Ganbare! Melody) scheduled March 6, both “Namida” and “Wankorometaa” showcase Shibata’s continued willingness to experiment and expand her sound, a continuation of the trend she started with her previous album DO YOU NEED A REST FROM LOVE? (愛の休日). Despite the shift in her overall style from her folk music origins, “Namida” is another great example of how Shibata never fails to adapt those folk sensibilities into her own uniquely earnest and relatable brand of pop music.

Bushiroad establishing new age of girl bands with amazing collaboration!

After a very successful three-day live in the fabled Budokan hall, Bushiroad’s multimedia project BanG Dream! announced that their band Poppin’ Party will be “competing” in a two-day  competition live against fellow popular girl band SILENT SIREN at the amazing Met Life Dome—a first for both—May 18 and 19. This luxurious collaboration was announced in a video package during Poppin’ Party’s portion of BanG Dream! 7th live (which you can check out to the right). 

Interestingly titled NO GIRLS NO CRY Poppin’ Party xSILENT SIREN, the competition will feature both fellow BanG Dream! bands Roselia and RAISE A SUILEN in its opening act. While SILENT SIREN is familiar with the idea of completion live before, it will be BanG Dream!’s first major collaboration with another artist.

Miyuki Watanabe reveals more details about first solo album!

Former member of super idol group NMB48 Miyuki Watanabe announced her first solo album. Titled 17%, it is set to drop April 3. 17% will include ten tracks total through three different editions: a CD-only standard edition, a CD + DVD limited edition, and an exclusive fan club only CD + Blu-ray edition which will also include a mini photo-book. Both DVD and Blu-ray are to include Watanabe’s 「1st LIVE TOUR 2018 ～Milky Landだよね～」from Zepp Tokyo back in September of last year.
