Indie Corner Week 31: nolala

nolala is a uniquely three-member, twin-vocal, all-girl rock band formed in 2016 with the promising statement that although they have twin vocals, all three members’ voices shall be heard with high tension. Their song “Goodbye liar” is a potent example of this claim; there is beautiful harmony that bassist Miyasumi and guitarist Chiharu bring and, while still new to the band, drummer Hina brings that emotional breakthrough hasn’t been seen since the debuting Scandal.

Currently nolala has released only mini-album harmony and one single, ”Goodbye liar”; both were released in 2018.

Yasuda Rei to release new single!

Pop singer Yasuda Rei, under Sony Music Japan, will release her newest single titled “blooming” February 27! “blooming” will be featured as the intro theme to the anime Layton Mystery Tantei Sha - Katrielle no Nazotoki File. The single will have three editions: a CD + DVD limited edition, a CD-only limited pressing, and a CD-only edition. The limited pressing edition, which features the anime on the cover, is only available until the end of April. All three are currently available for pre-order on CDJapan. PUSHIM announces new album and tour for her twenty anniversary!

Popular reggae/R&B artist PUSHIM announced via her official Youtube channel a brand new album titled immature, set for drop March 13. It will serve to commemorate PUSHIM’s twenty years in the music industry. immature is set to release with twelve tracks total and include tracks from her single “ナナメにキメるSTYLE” (“Naname ni Kimeru STYLE”), and mix CD “Groove Island”. 

The album will be released with two different editions: a CD-only standard edition and a DVD + CD limited edition which will include an exclusive six-track studio live featuring popular Japanese reggae band Home Grown.

Also announced was a three-month anniversary tour aptly named 「PUSHIM 20th ANNIVERSARY LIVE TOUR」, which will run from April 13 to July 20 at the venues shown to the right.

Eir Aoi springs forward with new album

Vocalist Eir Aoi announced a brand new album bearing the name FRAGMENT, scheduled for release April 17. FRAGMENT will be the latest album released by Aoi since D’AZUR in June 2015 and it will be her first album dropped following her hiatus from the industry back in 2016. The album will be launched with eleven tracks, including singles  “流星 / 約束” (“Ryusei/Yakusoku”) and “Iris”, the latter having been featured in the popular Sword Art Online anime series.

The album will include four amazing editions: a standard CD-only edition; a limited DVD or Blu-ray limited edition which will include several music videos and making-of for songs on the album; and a special collector’s edition which will be released with not only the Blu-ray limited edition version of FRAGMENT but also a mini photo book and original design T-shirt.

NEWS set to release their tenth album!

Japanese four member pop group NEWS, who is under Johnny’s & Associates are set to release their tenth studio album. NEWS was formed in 2003 originally as a nine member group and debuted with the single “NEWS Nippon”. Their name NEWS stands for the four compass signs: North, East, West, and South. NEWS’s tenth album will be entitled WORLDISTA and is set to release on February 20! It will be released in three editions, a standard CD Only edition, a CD+DVD Limited edition, and a Bundled set which will contain both editions. Each edition comes with a special set of bonus’s. The CD standard edition comes with four bonus tracks of the members solo songs plus a 20 page booklet. The CD+DVD Limited edition comes with 3D glasses to read the message in the WORLDISTA booklet, a DVD containing WORLDISTA ver10 and a 28 page booklet.
