STU48 outshines the competition

Mega idol group STU48 released their second single, “Kaze Wo Matsu”, February 12. Prior to this release STU48 had only one other single, “Kurayami”, which dropped January 31 last year. “Kurayami” reached number one but only sold 136,456 copies during its first week. “Kaze Wo Matsu”, however, sold 237,000 copies its first day.

For those who aren’t in the know, STU is short for “Setouchi”, a port city in Japan. While other groups in the 48 family have a traditional theatre, STU48’s theatre is specifically unique in the fact that it’s held on a boat that travels to the southern parts of Japan (as seen to the right).

“Kaze Wo Matsu”’s video (you can check it out below) is a stunning ten minutes long, though it is actually comprised of the music video itself with a making-of shown thereafter.

BRADIO springs back with news of new single!

Three-member funk band BRADIO announced a brand new single, “O・TE・A・GE・DA！”, set for release April 24. “O・TE・A・GE・DA！” will feature three new tracks along with a “Hidden AFRO version” of each new track. Also included are seven bonus tracks taken from BRADIO’s YES Release tour 2018～ORE to OMAE de BOOM BOOM BOOM～, which took place at the fable NHK Hall last November. With all of these bonuses, the album totals to an astounding thirteen tracks and this will be the latest release by BRADIO since their first major album YES, dropped back in July of last year.

With the additional announcement of “O・TE・A・GE・DA！”, BRADIO announced a brand new cross country tour coined IVVII Funky Tour which will start May 1. No tour dates have been announced at the time as of this writing but we’ll be sure to update you guys when they have.

AIMYON announces new single after success of second album!

Japanese vocalist and songwriter AIMYON announced a new single straight after the success of her second album Shunkanteki Sixth Sense. AIMYON’s seventh single overall and sixth major label single will bear the name “Haru no Hi”. “Haru no Hi” was chosen as the main theme for the animated movie 『Crayon Shin-chan Honeymoon Hurricane -Ushinawareta Hiroshi』 and is set for release April 17! It will be available in two editions: a standard CD edition and a limited “Crayon Shin-chan” edition.

Sayaka Yamamoto signs with a new label and announces a new single!

Hot off the heels of her NMB48 graduation, vocalist Sayaka Yamamoto announced that not only that she’ll be signing with a new label under Universal Music but that she’ll be release a new single titled “Ichirinso”. “Ichirinso” is set to release on April 17 with a track list of three track total and will be produced by fame music producer Seji Kameda with Yamamoto composing the lyrics herself.

Along with a regular edition and limited edition,“Ichirinso” will also release with an official fan club edition also announced. While the regular edition will release with an additional B-side track, the limited and fan club edition will include the music video and the making of for “Ichirinso”.

Reol brings a new EP after over a year!

Electronica vocalist and songwriter famous for her presence on NicoNico Douga, Reol announced her latest EP after over a year. Titled 文明 EP (Bunmei EP), the EP is set for release March 20 and will contain four new songs. This will be Reol’s latest release since album Jijitsu Jo dropped last October.

Bunmei EP will be released with three luxurious editions: a CD only regular edition, a CD + Blu-ray limited edition, and a CD + DVD limited edition. Both limited editions will contain the Reol Japan Tour 2018 MADE IN FACTION Zepp Tokyo concert which took place November 30 of last year. They will also include backstage footage and excerpts from her live concert in Korea.
