ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION Announces New Single!

Four-member rock band ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION announced a new single, “ボーイズ＆ガールズ” (“Boys & Girls”), being released on September 26. “Boys & Girls” will release with two tracks, with lead singer Gotoh writing and composing “Boys & Girls”. While the B-side, “祝日” (“Shukujitsu”), will be written and composed by bassist Takahiro Yamada.

The limited edition copy of the single will include a DVD documentary of their 2017 America tour.

ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION also announced that they will be releasing a new original album by the end of the year. We will reporting it more news of that album comes to light.

First Place Senbatsu Winner Jurina Matsui Will Not Participate In Upcoming Single!

Super idol group AKB48 announced today for their upcoming 53rd single, “Sentimental Train”, Senbatsu winner Jurina Matsui will not be participating in the single due to her hiatus.

“Sentimental Train”, which is being released on September 19, was the single Matsui would of been the center for, will now have second place winner Akari Suda as the center.

JUJU Announces New Jazz Album!

Vocalist JUJU announced today her next album in the DELICIOUS Jazz Album Series, with DELICIOUS ～JUJU's JAZZ 3rd Dish～, being released on December 5. The songs being covered in the album revealed at a later date.

DELICIOUS will continue on the trend of having Peanuts characters with JUJU on the cover of the album as seen below.

Also announced, JUJU will be returning to the BLUE NOTE TOKYO, for JUJU JAZZ LIVE 2018, starting on August 13 and running till the 23 of the same month. For those who do not know the BLUE NOTE is a very famous jazz club chain. So for those who are in Tokyo  during that time and want to listen to JUJU’s dulcet jazz style, please check it out!

Indie Corner Week 13: flue

flue is a three-member pop rock band that formed in 2014. What makes them stand out from other bands is the specific genre they classify their music as, which is “short pop-rock-tune”. All of their songs are about a min or two long, but their goal is to emotionally impact their listeners in some way through such short tracks. Their song “Secret ne Sararetto” is a great example of this method, as it gives off that “short but sweet” first impression that can hook listeners to the band, which in turn keeps the listener wanting more.

flue originally had a male bassist up until last year when he was replaced with a female bassist nicknamed Martin Kameyama. flue has one single ep, ”仕組まれたシクマンって言いたくなるよね” (“Shikumareta Sick man tte Iitakunaruyone”), and one album, No. 13, both featuring the male bassist. The new bassist can be heard on their recent mini-album flue, released this past April.

lol Announces Second Album!

Following the success of their latest single, “love & smile”, five-member group lol announced a brand new album. Currently the album’s title has yet to be decided however it will be released on October 31.

It will released with three different editions a CD only, CD+ music videos, and CD+LIVE. The live edition will include footage from their “lol live tour 2018-scream-“ tour.
