iri Doesn't Know What to Say With Upcoming New Release!

Vocalist iri announced that she will be releasing a brand new track, “言えない” (“Ienai”), across all digital music streaming platforms. This will be the latest release by the vocalist since “Sparkle” back in March and will be her fourth release of 2020. The new track is a love song that depicts the frustration of not being able to say what you really think or communicate well. A teaser video of this song is available on her YouTube channel.

It was also announced that iri is participating in the collaboration project "FIBERPILE (R) COLLABORATION SERIES" with the outdoor brand HELLY HANSEN. The collaboration wear between iri and HELLY HANSEN will be released November 27.

After the success of her latest release “24-25”, vocalist iri announced that she will be releasing a brand new album “Sparkle” on March 25th. This will be the latest album release done by her since “Shade” last year and will be iri’s fourth studio album overall. Not much is known about the album except that it will be released in both a CD-only standard edition and a CD+DVD limited edition. 

iri has also announced that she will be holding a spring tour simply called iri Spring Tour 2020. Kicking off on April 2nd in the fable SOUND MUSEUM VISION in Tokyo, with the remaining of the tour proper starting from April 12th till June 7th. Dates are posted here.

iri Transitions into a New Age With Latest Music Video!

Music Corner alum iri released the music video for her upcoming song “24-25” on her official YouTube channel. Set for release January 22, “24-25” will be the latest release by iri since “Shade” back in March of last year and is meant to represent a transition point in her career as she is turning 25 this year. 

Per the norm of iri videos, “24-25” gives a small yet powerful impression, enticing listeners more and more to the track, which is currently available on digital streaming platforms. “24-25” will be released with only three tracks and will drop with three editions includi ng a CD-only standard edition, a CD + T-shirt limited edition, and a vinyl edition. Music Corner Week 23: iri

iri is a vocalist that got her start back 2016 who takes her unique spin on the ever-growing R&B-Jazz fusion genre that has taken over Japan music industry as of late. Given with a gift of an acoustic guitar and the interest of going jazz bar time and time again. Combined with all these contributions, iri developed a soulful vocal style mixed in with hip-hop like a lyrical arrangement, which at first listens might throw off some listeners as her vocal style is a fairly mature one for someone of her age.

iri vocal present is almost trance-like as akin to JUJU, iri takes full control of her vocals and mixes it beautiful to whatever arrangement that is thrown to it. Whether it be a slower and dramatic composition like “Shade” or the more energetic fusion style tracks such as ”Wonderland”, or “Only One”, iri brings a present that might have been glossed over several years back but is a perfect fit to what the industry needs now.

Although short iri has several achievements already under her belt such as winning Sony Music’s JAM auditions which immediately propelled her to an artist to keep watch of with the collaboration of several big partners such as Amazon for their 2019 Japan Fashion Week the sky is her ceiling for the reach of her success. Currently, iri released two singles “Watashi”(2017) and “Only One”(2018), with three albums Grove It (2016), Juice (2018) and Shade (2019). iri also has several vinyl releases under her belt due to the genre she’s associated with.

iri Previews A Small Sample Of Her Latest Track "Shade"!

Vocalist iri released a preview for her upcoming song “Shade” on her official YouTube channel. “Shade” will also as the titular song for her upcoming album also titled Shade, set to release on March 6. Shade which is set to release with eleven tracks total, will also host various guest collaborators for the album, such as tofubeats, groove man Spot and STUTS.

Shade is set to release with a limited edition which will include a short documentary of iri’s time in Taiwan ,and regular edition. Also announced was that Shade will also release a special limited edition which will a special designed T-shirt. (As seen here)
