Man, am I glad this is has been put back on digital platforms. This is one of my favorite songs of the year and I’m glad I get to enjoy it again.

“A New Day” (feat. Phum Viphurit) by Nulbarich

I’m just a sucker for the sound of a synthesizer and this track has it in spades. I listen to this track and it takes me back to earlier days, which I find really enjoyable.

“No.1” by DISH//

This is a song I wasn’t too high on when it first dropped, but I’ve come around and have been enjoying it as of late. I’m glad to see that DISH// is going to be performing at the Kohaku this year and I’m really hoping to hear this song.

“All Me” by IVVY

November has been a pretty slow month, so I’ve been going back and listening to tracks that came out earlier this year and reflecting on the year so far. “All Me” is a fun track that I just keep coming back to. So, even though I’ve already featured this number, I wanted to give it another shout-out.

“Can’t Keep It Cool” by Akira Takano

Another track I’ve talked about here, but this is such a wonderful way to kick off his ENTER album, which is easily my favorite album of the year so far. There is a rush of life and energy in this track that keeps me coming back for more.

Music Corner 97: Nulbarich

Nulbarich is a five-piece rock project fronted by JQ, Jeremy Quartus, while the rest of the “band” changes out as needed, depending on the composition and style of the song. The project formed in 2015 and the name of the band comes from a portmanteau of the word “Null” as in nothing and the word “Rich” and means “nothing but rich filled” Nulbarich dropped their first album, Guess Who? in 2016 and has since gone on to release five albums. Their latest album, NEW GRAVITY, dropped earlier this year.

Nulbarich really has a fun unique style that in some ways gives me an 80’s feel to their music. The music that JQ and the group focuses on beats and grooves which then blend those elements with rock to produce a pretty unique sound. His latest track “A New Day (feat. Phum Viphurit)” is really good and leans really heavy on the synthesizer, but there is a gentleness to it that really pulls the listener in. Nulbarich have a wide range, and their song “Lost Game” shows that he can do really good ballads as well.

Be sure to check out Nulbarich official website stays up to date with their latest news along with their Twitter. Lastly, be sure to check out their track “A New Day (feat. Phum Viphurit)” in the video below.
