MIYAVI to Release “Running In My Head,” Theme Song of Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture, as Single on May 8!

MIYAVI’s new song, “Running In My Head,” which was announced as the theme song of Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture at the end of last year, is set to be released as a single on May 8, 2024. This song, which MIYAVI has already performed live, is an up-tempo rock tune featuring his characteristic powerful and thrilling guitar sounds. It is also scheduled to be released with a specially drawn anime jacket, and  fans of Code Geass are eagerly awaiting further information on what the illustration will look like.

Code Geass: Roze of the Recapture, the latest installment in the Code Geass series, is scheduled for a four-part release starting May 2024, and the most recent trailer features “Running In My Head.”

MIYAVI’s Long-Awaited First New Album in Three Years, “Lost In Love, Found In Pain,” To Release in Two Parts! Part 1 Arrives on April 3!

At his year-end live performance, MIYAVI announced his first album release in three years to the enthusiastic cheers of the audience. This album, titled “Lost In Love, Found In Pain,” will be a two part series with the theme of “duality.” The release date of the first part, “Lost In Love,” has been set for April 3.

In terms of sound production, it will be crafted in collaboration with Lenny Skolnik, a longtime partner in music creation, and involve various producers and collaborators in Los Angeles. On the visual front, Darren Craig, known for his work with A$AP Ferg and Justin Timberlake, was enlisted to explore new expressions. Please look forward to the upcoming release of the music and visuals.

In addition, the first pre-release single from the album, titled “Broken Fantasy / Tragedy Of Us,” is available for streaming starting from February 4, 2024. “Broken Fantasy” features a solid, up-tempo rock sound, showcasing not only MIYAVI’s distinctive guitar play but also a captivating vocal style that reveals a new aspect of his artistry. In contrast, “Tragedy Of Us” is a medium-tempo tune that incorporates scattered guitar phrases, dramatic developments throughout the song, and a narrative-like vocal delivery.

MIYAVI Adds Osaka Performance to 20th Anniversary Tour, Announces Europe and China Tour!

MIYAVI has recently made several exciting announcements. Apart from the Tokyo performance on September 18 at Line Cube Shibuya for his 20th anniversary, he will also be performing in Osaka. Additionally, he has planned a tour in Europe and China.

The extra show in Osaka will take place on September 1. Following that, he will embark on a Europe/China tour titled “20th & Beyond Tour 2023 -Return of the Samurai Guitarist-.” The tour will kick off in Warsaw, Poland, and include nine European cities. It will then continue to five Chinese cities, starting in Beijing. This tour marks MIYAVI’s first visit to Europe and China since 2019.

As this year marks his 20th anniversary as a solo artist, we can anticipate an extraordinary performance that showcases his diverse activities both in Japan and abroad. It’s an opportunity to glimpse MIYAVI’s evolution and eagerly anticipate what the future holds for him.

MIYAVI Launches 20th Solo Debut Anniversary Project “20th & Beyond”!

Nicknamed the “Samurai Guitarist”, MIYAVI is an artist who has an active career both in Japan and

overseas. In recent years, he starred in the movie Kate and did voice acting for the Netflix animated

series Arcane, which also features his music in the soundtrack. Additionally, he gave the opening

performance at the National Stadium when the soccer team Paris Saint-Germain came to Japan. Also,

on Sado Island, MIYAVI collaborated with Kodo, a taiko drumming troupe that keeps traditional

Japanese music and arts alive through their performances, and this week, the movie Hell Dogs, which

he was cast in, hits Japanese theaters nationwide on September 16. He’s a dynamic artist whose work

goes beyond borders and any one genre.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of his solo debut, MIYAVI is launching a 20th anniversary

project titled “MIYAVI 20th & Beyond” on October 31. This project will not only celebrate his 20 years in

the music industry, but also show how he will further evolve as an artist. For the first part of the project,

MIYAVI will be releasing his first ever anime song cover album. The album will be called

“MIYAVIVERSE - Anima -” and will feature five carefully selected anime songs that are also much-

loved overseas. They will be reborn anew with MIYAVI’s signature sound and are sure to shake up the

new audiovisual world.

America. Following the NA tour, in December MIYAVI will hold “Electric Xmas 2022”, a special

Christmas live show, in three Japanese cities!

The tracks for the album have been announced and will include signature songs “The Galaxy Express

999”, “Get Wild”, “Soul's Refrain”, and “Eternal Wind ~Hohoemi Wa Hikaru Kaze No Naka~”, as well as

the recent hit “Blue Bird”. New artist photos were unveiled with the album’s announcement and visuals

that match the theme of each song will be announced later.

In October, MIYAVI will start his world tour commemorating his 20th anniversary with a large-scale

North American tour, similar to last year. And if fans weren’t already excited enough, it was announced

that in December, he will be performing “Electric Xmas 2022”, a special Christmas live show that will

MIYAVI Plans North American Tour for October 2022

As MIYAVI prepares for the 20th anniversary of his debut this October, it has been announced that he will transfer his record company to Purple One Star, a label operated by Bandai Namco Music Live a division of gaming conglomerate Bandai Namco.

Futurism,” his first single under this new label, was released digitally last June. “Futurism" is full of MIYAVI's signature heavy guitar sound and dynamism, with lyrics that touch on the artist’s futuristic view of the world.

In addition, MIYAVI will be embarking on a huge North American “Futurism” Tour in October this year. Last year, in October 2021, he became the first Asian artist to complete a 20-show tour since the COVID-19 pandemic began. This year’s tour will run from October 5 to November 7 and feature performances at 19 venues.
