Although it is only the first single by this newcomer artist, the song “pARTs” was selected as the ending theme tune to the second season of AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline, which is the first original anime production from SUNRISE BEYOND and is broadcasting now.

Comment from Natumi.

“Nice to meet you everyone – I’m Natumi. I performed the ending theme to the second season of AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline. The attraction of AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline is not only its intense combat scenes, but also the generous spirit and humanity of its characters, and the interactions between them. I love that side of the show, and I was completely absorbed by the first season.”

“I’ve adored anime since I was little, so it is a joy to perform the ending theme to such a wonderful show. Not only that, but the music was produced by Hiroyuki Sawano, whom I really admire. ‘PARTs’ is a strong and powerful song, so I’d love for it to be heard by as many people as possible. I hope you will lend your support in the future – both for AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline and for me, Natumi.”

Comment from Hiroyuki Sawano

“I was happy to have the opportunity to produce the debut single by Natumi. Her unique singing voice and her approach to singing this song helped to expand the sound of the music in new ways. Also, seeing Natumi. at work during production made me excited to see how she will evolve as a vocalist in the future. I can’t wait to see how the final song will be received by listeners via AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline.”

Music Corner Week 113: Foi

Foi is a half Japanese-Chinese vocalist that got her start back in 2019. A graduate of the “Sony Music the LESSON” system when she was just 16, Foi blends styles from both of her ethnicities. C-POP and Mandopop greatly influenced her in her childhood, and her music brings out the best of modern J-pop and traditional Chinese music. Being a Japanese-Chinese half-singer-songwriter , which is a rarity in the industry, attracts the attention of fans. Her vocals are emotion-filled and have a smooth style, which makes Foi an artist that you can’t miss.

Whether it’s the more urban, mellow compositions of “Countman” and “Swim in our eyes” with sound producer Shin Sakiura, or “Don’t play the love song” that was produced by TiMT of Mime, she brings that nostalgic feeling of late 90’s early 00’s R&B. However, she isn’t all one trick, as she also brings a more folk style of composition with her song “Pink Boy.” While I do think she is a very strong singer-songwriter by herself, she is honestly phenomenal when she collaborates with someone.

Currently, Foi has eight singles, all of which are available across all digital music and streaming platforms along with one album, HER, that released in May of 2022. Be sure to check out her official website along with her Twitter and Instagram with her the music video for the track “Countman” below!

Gray's Ongaku Go For May 2022

Sorry for the delay in posting this. Picking up where Ken and Luna left off lets go over to top five songs I’ve been listening to this past month. All the songs posted here are available on Apple Music.

“LiE LiE LiE” by BiSH

This is a pretty fun song by BiSH. It looks like they are putting out all the stops for this last run before they break up.

You can check out “LiE LiE LiE” here and the music video below!

“Actually” by Nogizaka46

This is a very good song by Nogizaka46. It’s been a while since they’ve had a song worth talking about but this one is actually worth looking into.

You can check out “Actually” here and the music video below!

“Turn To You” by FANTASTICS from EXILE Tribe

This is a really good track that reminds me of songs that came out when I was in high school. The melody on this track is really good and the vocal work done here really complements the composition.

You can check out “Turn To You” here and the music video below!

“Change My Life” by The RAMPAGE from EXILE Tribe

This was a nice surprise from The RAMPAGE. Definitely, something that a first doesn’t sound much like a song that they would do but it really works. The RAMPAGE has really be mixing it up as of late and I’m here for it.

You can check out “Change My Life” here and the music video below!

“Atarashi Seikai” by Generation From EXILE Tribe

Man my opinion of this group has really changed over the past several months. Their Up & Down album is still one of my favorites. “Atarashi Seikai” is the first song they’ve released so far this year but I’m really digging it and I can’t wait to see what these guys do next.
