WARPs UP Brings a New Pleasure with Latest Music Video!

Japanese-Chinese boys’ collective WARPs UP released their new single “Pleasure” across all digital music streaming platforms today, along with new mini-album Prep.20/21SS -Chapter RLSM-. Up until now, these releases had been limited to China only, so this marks the first opportunity for fans to hear these long-awaited songs on music services around the world.

The single “Pleasure” is the opening theme song to the popular TV anime series Fruits Basket, whose latest season The Final began broadcasting in April. This is the first ballad from WARPs UP, and carries the inspiring message that no matter our fate or circumstances, we all have the power to shape our own future. 

The “Pleasure -Anime ver.- music video was released recently, featuring scenes from the opening of the movie, but today another music video that includes the group members has also been released. While the song itself is a ballad, the video includes an unmissable dance routine that showcases WARPs UP’s trademark skills.

“Pleasure” is also one of five songs on the new mini-album Prep.20/21SS -Chapter RLSM-. The release also includes “SUPERNOVA”, which recently topped the weekly J-pop chart on China’s major streaming service NetEase Cloud Music. The collection preserves this important formative period in the group’s history.

Fruits Basket The Final has Started Broadcasting with a Heart-Wrenching Opening and Ending Themes by WARPs UP and GENIC!

Fruits Basket: The Final stars airing globally from today. The opening theme song "Pleasure" is a new song by Japanese-Chinese mixed boys collective WARPs UP, and the ending theme song "春うらら”(“Haru Urara”) is a new song of mixed gender dance & vocal group GENIC. Both of them were aired for the first time in the program today so don’t miss it!

Faithfully capturing the story, the Opening theme "Pleasure" by WARPs UP's is their first melodic medium ballad song with the idea that the future can be changed by oneself in any environment and fate. The song is inspired by the characters of Fruit Basket who are trying to resist their destiny while having to overcome their own weaknesses. The ending theme "Haru Urara" by GENIC is a medium ballad that is perfect to describe the arrival of spring that will make you feel positive by singing about "friendship" and "a new beginning". It is a song that makes you feel the warmth as if you are supporting the characters of Fruit Basket who are trying to move forward. For those who haven’t watched the Anime, Fruits Basket: The Final  the story about Tohru, who lost his mother and used to live alone in a tent, but decided to live with Yuki Soma and Kyo Soma because the place was the site of the venerable "Soma family".

However, the Soma family has been bound by the abominable "curse" for hundreds of years. Tohru, who deepens her bonds with Yuki Soma, and the Soma family, struggles to break the curse, but cannot find a clue to the solution. On the contrary, she was at a loss for words when she learned the greatest secret that the head of the Soma family, Akito Soma, was a woman.

The "bond" that connects the "God" and the "Zodiac" is a fragile spiral of sadness. However, there is no feast that lasts forever-- The first memory, the first promise that everyone has forgotten. WARPs UP Explodes Like a SUPERNOVA with Incredible Choreography and Cool Rock Beats in Latest Music Video!

Japanese-Chinese boys’ collective WARPs UP have released the video for new song “SUPERNOVA” on YouTube, marking their fourth release in four consecutive months. The single is also now exclusively available to purchase in China. “SUPERNOVA” was produced by Tony Esterly and Paige Blue, who have worked on hits such as “Satisfied” with Sia and multiple songs with BTS. This follows WARPs UP’s success working with Esterly and Blue on their previous single “Cloud 9” in December of last year. 

The song was envisioned as the ultimate concert opening track, with a powerful intro that pulls you headlong into the world of WARPs UP. Differing from their usual groove-led tracks, “SUPERNOVA” has a solid rock sound that offers yet another glimpse of WARPs UP’s endless charms.

The video features yet another groundbreaking dance performance by the incomparably skilled WARPs UP members, and for the first time they are also joined by a group of backing dancers. The larger number of performers makes the choreography all the more intense, while hinting at the possibility of a fluid lineup of dancers in future videos.

RIKIMARU and SANTA recently set the internet alight when they performed on CHUANG2021, a popular music variety program in China that has exceeded 5 billion views. Their performance on the show elicited an explosive reception from fans around the world, while hashtags praising their performance trended on social media platform Weibo, with posts on the platform gaining over 60 million views.

World-Class Dancers RIKIMARU and SANTA are Blowing up Online After Unbelievable Performance on Chinese Variety Show ‘CHUANG2021’

RIKIMARU and SANTA from the Japanese-Chinese boy group WARPs UP are blowing up on social media following their performance on the highly popular Chinese music variety show CHUANG2021. Following their incredible dance performance on the show, multiple hashtags in Chinese praising the boys’ dance skills such as #赞多力丸太能跳 began trending on social media platform Weibo, and posts with these hashtags have already been viewed more than 60 million times. 

RIKIMARU and SANTA made their appearance on CHUANG2021 in the spirit of intercultural exchange, which is the defining concept of WARPs UP, a Japanese-Chinese collective that transcends national borders and genres. It also helps that they are unbelievably skilled performers. RIKIMARU provides choreography for many famous artists, while SANTA is a world-champion title-holding dancer who has won esteemed global dance battles. The pair demonstrated these world-class skills on CHUANG2021, and they soon had the panel of mentors and the audience of fellow participants on their feet to excitedly cheer them on.

Jia, a popular singer and actress in China who was previously a member of the K-pop group Miss A, also praised their dance performance on her Weibo account. Praise for the performance soon spread beyond China, as Gloria Groove, the Brazilian superstar who sang the original version of “A CAMINHADA” which RIKIMARU and SANTA performed on the show, took to Instagram to praise the boys to the singer’s 2 million followers.And in Japan, too, fans have posted comments on social media such as “These guys are on another level” and “The quality of their dancing is through the roof”. WARPs UP Brings the Heat with Latest Music Video!

The music video for “One Hundred degrees”, the latest track by Chinese-Japanese boy group WARPs UP, was released on YouTube today, January 22. Following “Hali Gali” in November 2020 and “Cloud 9” in December, “One Hundred degrees” is the group’s third single in three consecutive months. An instrumental version of the song was used briefly in a YouTube teaser video released over a year ago, and now for the first time it is available as a full song. This was the very first track the group worked on when they formed, and it holds a special place in the members’ hearts.

The song is WARPs UP’s unique take on trap, and its lyrics mix three languages – Japanese, Chinese and English. The lyrics have been rewritten since their original incarnation, as WARPs UP have grown over time from their experiences and successes. They sing of how even the biggest flame starts from a mere candlelight, a reflection on how starting small means you have plenty of room to grow. The choreography that accompanies the song has also been reworked, so fans can enjoy comparing the new dance moves with the original steps featured in the teaser video.

WARPs is an abbreviation of Wave Assemble Radical People-syndicate, based on the concept of creating waves of innovation. It is a project that produces a variety of unique artistic works and transcends national borders. WARPs UP are one of the groups within the WARPs project. The group includes two members from Japan and two from China.
