Music Corner Week 54: DREAM MAKER

DREAM MAKER is a male vocal group that comes from Kansai that originally started out as six-members. The group is now made up of 4, with each member writing and composing the songs they perform. They are SHUNGO, YASU, RYOTA, and RYO. SHUNGO is the youngest member who enjoys watching movies while staying current on the news. YASU enjoys baseball while RYOTA enjoys anime, manga, and cafes. Lastly, RYO enjoys driving and looking at new musical equipment.

These guys have a great ability to harmonize and come together as one.  “Passion!” is the catchphrase of the group and the listener can feel that in each note sung. In their song “alive”, each member gets a moment to shine and come together for the chorus where they add their vocals to the melody creating a fun hook that pulls the listener in.

DREAM MAKER has released nine singles and one album since their debut in 2017. They have been busy this year having just recently streamed their tour DREAM MAKER LIVE TOUR 2020 DREAM × DREAM which is currently on their YouTube page. CY8ER Announces Disbandment and Final Tour!

Five-member idol group CY8ER have announced that they will disband on January 10, 2021 at Nippon Budokan peformance of 「CY8ERなりの横浜アリーナ(CY8ER Nari Yokohama Arena」. CY8ER had recently made their major debut with Victor Entertainment in January of 2020 with their album Tokyo. Rinahamu Ichigo, member and producer of CY8ER, made the announcement at the free live performance called “CY8ER” on July 18th. She stated CY8ER was created based on the concept of “making dreams come true within a limited time before it disbands (or dissovles).” All five members were able to come and work together until now fulfilling each members dream and each stage dream that was promised together. The only one left to fulfill is Nippon Budokan, which will be fulfilled on January 10, 2021.

CY8ER will begin their nationwide tour 「CY8ER FINAL TOUR -正夢 (Masume)-」from now until their final live performance. They will tour 11 venues including, the final at Nippon Budokan. Tour dates below for CY8ER’s FINAL TOUR along with their latest video release of 伝えたいこと (Tsutaetai koto).

UNISON SQUARE GARDEN Introduces Fans to Patrick With Upcoming Album!

Popular three-member rock band UNISON SQUARE GARDEN announced that they will be releasing a brand new album, Patrick Vegee, September 30. This will be the latest album from the band since MODE MOOD MODE back in January 2018 and will be their eighth album overall. The album will feature twelve tracks and include “Catch up, latency”, “Phantom Joke”, and “春が来てぼくら” (“Haru ga Kite Bokura”). It will also drop with three editions: a CD-only standard edition and CD+DVD/Blu-ray limited editions. Both the Blu-ray and DVD will include footage from their USG 2020 "LIVE(in the)HOUSE" live event that took place back in July.

Koda Kumi Brings A Puff Of Fun In New Dance Video!

Japanese pop vocalist and industry icon Koda Kumi has dropped a new music video for her latest digital single “puff”! The digital single for “puff” was released across all streaming platforms along with the YouTube version of the music video. Kuu-chan has also released a dance version of the new single on YouTube. The dance version is a very simple video with Kuu-can dancing and having fun. The track is written by Kuu-chan herself in an effort to give energy to all those staying at home during the pandemic. It’s a lighthearted pop song meant to make you move your body. Check out “puff -Dance ver-” below and move your body with Kuu-chan!

Attractions Brings the PULP Back With Upcoming Album!

After their digital hit “Blood Pressure”, four-member rock band Attractions announced that they will be releasing a brand new album, POST PULP, August 26. This will be the latest album release by the band since DISTANCE back in December of last year and will be their first major label album after being signed to Victor Entertainment. The release will feature eleven tracks and include songs from their singles “Satisfaction”, “Chain Reaction”, and “Blood Pressure”. POST PULP will be available through a standard edition and limited edition, both of which CD-only releases, but the limited edition will include a bonus twelfth track.
