Tohoshinki kick off their fifteen year anniversary with new single!

Popular Korean duo Tohoshinki announced that they will be releasing a brand new single, “まなざし” (“Manazashi”), January 22. This will be the latest single by the duo since “Hot Hot Hot/ Mirrors” back in July and will be their fourty-eighth single overall. “Manazashi” will be used to commemorate the group’s fifteenth anniversary and is promised to convey all of the feelings they experienced throughout the years. The duo also mentioned the track will be a ballad number.

The single will be released with two tracks along with its instrumental and will drop with two editions, a CD-only standard edition and a CD + Photo book limited edition. Both editions will include info about a future anniversary event. Unfortunately there are no pre-order links right now but we shall update you guys when the time comes!

Music Corner Week 31: Mirei Touyama

Mirei Touyama is a Japanese R&B and pop singer-songwriter under the Mastersix record label, a sublabel of Sony Music Japan. Mirei got her start in the music industry in 2013 at the young age of thirteen with a digital single released in America called “Tattoo” under the name MIREI. She debuted in Japan with the single “Fallin Out/ I Wanna NO feat. SHUN”. Mirei has the capability to switch between Japanese and English so seamlessly with her powerful smooth voice. Not only does she have vocal talent, but she has some of the best dance skills and won a contest called SPROUT for her dancing.

Mirei has a great range in vocal capabilities and you can hear the power in her voice in many of her songs. Her ability as a songwriter also shows in her music as well, as she sings with such passion and portrays her lyrics poignantly with her voice. Her latest song “Moshimo feat. Marari to Ryuga” showcases her smooth powerful vocals in an R&B power ballad. “Fallin’ Out” was one of the first songs I heard by Mirei and it made a huge impression on me. Her vocal skills are so powerful they blow you away and the song itself has a great melody that sticks with you (it’s a mid-tempo R&B song). “I Wanna NO feat. SHUN” is a fun dance song that has some great EDM/techno beats to it that make it great for the clubs. It also has an extremely catchy chorus to go along with the catchy beat.

Mirei currently has three studio albums: Memories, My Way, and Answer; two mini albums: Negai and Playlist; three physical singles: “Fallin’ Out/I Wanna NO feat. SHE IS SUMMER shows her gentle side with new music video!

Days before the release of her second album, Music Corner alum SHE IS SUMMER dropped the music video for her track “嬉しくなっちゃって” (“Yasashikunaccyatte”) on her official YouTube channel. Slated to become the lead track for her upcoming album WAVE MOTION set for release November 27, “Yasashikunacchatte” has Kiyomaru Togo collaborating with SHE IS SUMMER.  The video has her exploring Taiwan and showing just how unique MICO is with this solo project. 

WAVE MOTION will be released with only a CD-only standard edition and will be her latest release since mini-album MIRACLE FOOD back in May. The album will drop with thirteen tracks and include hits “CALL ME IN YOUR SUMMER”, “Darling Darling”, and “会いにいかなくちゃ” (“Aini Ikanakucha”).

OH MY GIRL hopes to stick around with fans Eternally with new album!

Popular seven-member Korean idol group OH MY GIRL announced that they will be releasing a brand new album, Eternally, January 8. This will be the latest album by the group since OH MY GIRL JAPAN 2nd ALBUM back in July and will be their third overall in Japan. The album will include popular tracks sung during their OH MY GIRL Zepp LIVE TOUR 2019 'starlight' tour such as the Japanese version of “BUNGEE”, original Japanese track “Eternally”, “Precious Moment”, and OH MY GIRL’s fan club charting hit “Love O’clock”. 

Eternally will also be released with eight tracks and will come in three editions: a CD-only standard edition and two CD + DVD limited editions simply titled Type A and Type B. Type A’s DVD will include the entirety of their first fan meeting tour which took place in Tokyo back in May while Type B’s DVD will only include the music videos for several tracks from the album along with a making-of. The Type B limited edition will also include four bonus tracks, making it the definitive edition for fans to go after.

Magic happens with WANDS reunion

WANDS is a music trio rock band formed back in 1991 that has been on-and-off since they got started. Recently they revealed they will be getting back together and performing activities for the fifth time. WANDS performed its first live at the “DFT presents Ototo ON vol.6” on November 17 at the Dojima River Forum in Osaka.

The event was broadcast live to YouTube. On January 29 WANDS will be releasing a brand new single titled “Makka na Lip” which is set to become the opening theme song of the hit defective anime Detective Conan. the single will be available in two editions. Both of them will be CD-only but the Tie Up Edition will have an anime cover.
