GENERATION from EXILE TRIBE to continue dreaming with new single!

Hot off the heels of the BATTLE OF TOKYO ~ENTER THE Jr.EXILE~ album and ahead of their newest single “Brand New Story”, Jr. EXILE group GENERATION from EXILE TRIBE announced a brand new single. The single is titled “DREAMERS”, scheduled to drop August 28. The announcement came as a surprise during the group’s BATTLE OF TOKYO ~ENTER THE Jr.EXILE~ live event this past weekend. “DREAMERS” will be the second song from their three-month consecutive release promise.

Unfortunately, not much information is available about the single; however, it will drop with two editions: a CD-only standard edition and a CD + DVD limited edition. GENERATION also announced the dates and locations for their new dome tour simply titled GENERATIONS LIVE TOUR 2019 “Shonen Chronicle”. It is set to run from August 31 through December 15 (more info at right).

GIRLFRIEND sings about the blue sky

Girl band GIRLFRIEND revealed they will be performing the next opening theme in the weekly shonen anime series Black Clover. The new opening will be titled “sky & blue” and will come out August 28. It will not be implemented into the series until the August 6 broadcast.

“sky & blue” will be released in two editions. The first edition will be a standard edition and CD-only while the second edition will be CD + DVD. There are two tracks on the CD with the first being “sky & blue” while the second track has yet to be revealed. The DVD will feature the “sky & blue” music video. You can pre-order your copy here.

lol shows fans their bravery with latest music video!

Pop unit lol finally revealed the music video for their upcoming single “brave up!!”. Dropped July 1, the video features a shortened version of the song wherein the members of lol are dancing in what appears to be an empty parking garage—but the video cuts back and forth from them dancing to them atop a city building and a supersized DJ Koo is in the background mixing the song. We get to see DJ Koo’s rap break before he undergoes a special transformation.

It was revealed June 13 via the group’s official Twitter account that the brand new member of the group will be seasoned veteran DJ Koo. This news came along with the full reveal that “brave up!!” will only be featuring DJ Koo so it appears that DJ Koo’s membership status is only honorary. 

DJ Koo is a veteran of the Japanese music industry, getting his start in the mid 1980s as a DJ for the Discos B&B and Canterbury House. In 1986 he joined a group known as THE JGs who produced eurobeat-styled remixes of other Japanese artists’ work and in the ‘90s he appeared as a rapper in many songs with various artists such as TOKIO  Then in 1998 he went on to join the pop group TRG where he would help them write songs. He also joined the group WILL with Yamada Wataru in the late 2000s.

WANIMA tell us where to find summer in latest music video!

Popular three-member rock band WANIMA released their latest music video for track “夏のどこかへ” (“Natsu no Dokoka he”) on their official YouTube channel. As previously reported, “Nantsu no Dokoka he” will be the lead track for the group’s upcoming single “Summer Trap!!” which will drop July 17, and as its name implies it will include tracks with a summery feel. “Summer Trap!!” will drop with only a CD-only standard edition with four tracks total.

The music video involves the band being the main attraction during an Obon festival, a traditional festival that happens during the summertime in Japan. It also involves kid-looking versions of all of the members enjoying the festival and clowning around. WANIMA also joins in on the fun with members of the band working certain vendor stands and interacting with the boys from time to time.

ClariS celebrates nine years

Pop duo ClariS announced their latest album SUMMER TRACKS - Natsu no Uta - which will be released August 14. SUMMER TRACKS - Natsu no Uta - is a celebration of being in the industry for nine years. The tracks on SUMMER TRACKS - Natsu no Uta - will be both a blend of new and old but with the distinct flare that ClariS brings. It is being released in two editions; the standard edition will be CD-only and come with a postcard and the limited edition will also be CD-only and include a postcard but will also include bonus materials that have yet to be determined.
