DIR EN GREY delivers first live Blu-ray and DVD in over three years!

Veteran five-member rock metal band DIR EN GREY announced the release of a new Blu-ray and DVD live collection concert, the first release since their live tour ARCHE at NIPPON BUDOKAN in June 2016. The new live collection concert will be titled “FROM DEPRESSION TO ________ [mode of 16-17]” and will be released August 7! The LIVE COLLECTION Blu-ray & DVD for the concert will feature eighteen selected songs performed at seven different concerts of DIR EN GREY’s national tour held from June 2016 through October 2017. As a bonus the concert will also feature a song performed at their ”TOUR14 PSYCHONNECT -mode of "GAUZE"?-". This brings the set list to nineteen live songs total! Kaera Kimura sweetly announces surprise for anniversary!

Singer-songwriter Kaera Kimura announced that she’ll be releasing a brand new album interestingly titled いちご (Ichigo) July 31. 

Ichigo will be the latest full album released by Kimura since her album PUNKY back in October of 2016 and will be used to commemorate her fifteenth year in the music industry. Kimura will be writing and composing all of the tracks herself and hinted that she’ll be bringing in guest artists to collaborate with for the album.

Kimura also announced on her debut anniversary date that she will be having a concert simply titled “GO!GO! KAELAND 2019 -15 years anniversary” at Hibiya Open Air Concert Hall in Tokyo June 23. You can find more information, along with ticket sales, here.

Serina Motola debuts in the music industry with cover of classic song!

Popular model/actress Serina Motola announced that she’ll be making her foray into the music industry with her first single “いかれたBaby” (“Ikareta Baby”), dropping July 3 only, available on 12-inch vinyl. 

Originally released by the band Fishmans back in in 1993, Motola fell in love with the vocals and the song’s lyrics, which compelled her to make a cover of this particular song as her first single.

For the recording of this psychedelic single, Motola will be backed by two members of Fishmans’ Motegi Kinichi and Yuzuru Kashiwabara, who played drums and bass for the band. Also joining Kinichi and Kashiwabara on Motora’s first outing will be guitarist Masayuki Ishii of TICA fame who will also play as the sound producer for the single, along with trumpeter NARGO who plays with Kinichi in their band Tokyo Ska Paradise.

Skypiece soars with second album and third single release!

Two-member popular YouTuber unit Skypiece, which consists of Teo-kun and ☆ Ini ☆, have surprised fans with the announcement of a second album and third single to be released the same day, June 26! Their second album will be titled BE BOY while their third single will be “Ride or Die”. “Ride or Die” will be used as the ending theme song to the popular anime Boruto -Naruto Next Generations-. Boruto is the sequel to the popular shounen anime series Naruto where we follow the adventures of Boruto, who is son of previous main protagonist in Naruto. “Ride or Die” will come in one edition as a 500 yen One Coin edition. However, Skypiece’s second album BE BOY will have three soaring editions: a CD + DVD Limited Sky Edition, a CD + DVD Limited Piece Edition, and a CD Regular Edition. Sakanaction gives small sneak peek for true fans of latest album!

Five-member electronic fusion rock band Sakanaction unfortunately delayed the release of their upcoming new album 834.194 to June 19. However, as a small favor to their fans, they uploaded a teaser for their “Sakanaction Ten Year Anniversary Event” concert on their official YouTube channel. 

The concert, which will be included on every Blu-ray and DVD edition of the album, took place May of 2017 in Shin Kiba Studio in Tokyo and featured the top 15 requested songs. Totaling out to 130 mins, it allows fans who weren’t able to attend to enjoy the concert in the comfort of their own home. 

Along with the uploading of the teaser Sakanaction also revealed the jacket covers for the album which was personally designed by modern artist unit Nerhol.  Which you can seen below.
