JABBA DA FOOTBALL CLUB shoots forward toward new goal!

Four-member hyperactive hip-hop group JABBA DA FOOTBALL CLUB announced that they will be signed to Sony Music Records June 5 with the release of their new major debut single “新世界” (“Shin Sekai”). The exciting move up to a major label was announced during the group’s Tokyo UNIT 「OMAKE PARK」 live event and the group was eager to give their fans a small sample of their upcoming tracks. JABBA DA FOOTBALL CLUB emotionally thanked all of their fans for being with them up until then and hope that they look forward to the next step in their musical journey. “Shin Sekai” will release with two editions: a CD-only standard edition and a CD + DVD limited edition.

JABBA DA FOOTBALL CLUB announced their first major label tour simply titled 新世界体験記 ～飛び出しちゃってゴメンなさい～ (Shin Sekai Taiken Ki ~Tobi Dashichyatte Gomenasai), set to be launched July 3-10. For those interested, we included the three currently announced tour dates to the right.

Little Glee Monster mixes it up with new single!

Five-member female idol group Little Glee Monster announced that they have a new single coming out May 29. The new single, “君に届くまで” (”Kimi No Todoku Made”), is the latest release by the group since “夏になって歌え”(“Natsu ni Natte Utae"), with it being their fourteenth single overall. It was also announced that “Kimi no Todoku Made” is set to serve as the ending theme of the anime MIX , which began airing April 6. The song will be written by Junji Ishiwatari—guitarist of legendary band Supercar—and composed by Yoshiki Mizuno. The complete track listing hasn’t been revealed at the time at this writing.

“Kimi No Todoku Made” is being released in three editions. The Standard Edition will be CD-only. There will be a Limited Press Edition which will only be available until the end of September. Also, a Limited Edition will include a CD and a DVD.

Ghinka soars in with first mini album!

Japanese pop vocalist, Ghinka, discovered by Akino Arai in 2016 and debuted under Pure Heart Label with the single “雨降る森に (Ame furu mori ni)” will be releasing her first mini album Yellow Bird on April 10! Yellow Bird will feature six songs that harmonize Ghinka’s sweet simplistic vocals with the sounds of silver summer melodies. Kato Miliyah builds a life with music and love!

Japanese R&B/pop vocalist, songwriter, novelist, and fashion designer Miliyah Kato announced that she has married and a baby is on the way! Kato-san debuted in 2004 with her single “Never let go/Yozora”; she was only a high school student at the time. Her lyrics and charisma won over Japan and helped her rise in popularity. The news of Kato’s marriage and pregnancy was announced by her on her official website. Her significant other (husband) is a non-celebrity and their baby is due this summer. On her website Kato-san stated, “I will do my best my best to build a life full of love in both the world of music and at home. I hope that you continue to follow me.”

Shiina Ringo looks fierce in new album art

Vocalist Shiina Ringo has a brand new album coming out May 27 which will be titled Sandokushi. Its namesake is a combination of Buddhist term sandouku, “three poisons which taint the hearts of man: desire, ill will, and ignorance”; and shi, “history”. Sandokushi will have a total of thirteen tracks but the final track list has yet to be revealed.

Sandokushi will be released in a standard and limited edition. The standard edition will just be the CD while the limited edition will come with both a CD and DVD.

Also, on May 27, Ringo will be releasing her Ringo Expo 18, the concert she held at the Saitama Super Arena November 25 of last year. It was part of Ringo’s twentieth anniversary tour.
