Indie Corner Week 19: Penguinrush

Penguinrush is a four-member pop band that wants to merge the styles of funk and jazz into modern J-pop. Bassist Kotaro and keyboardist Mayu bring out a unique fusion of styles that puts listeners into a trance at each listen of their songs' beats. This is further amplified with the fusion of Miyo’s calming vocals and the beat courtesy of her fellow bandmates. This all is orchestrated into a nice exhibition of how a modern jazz band should sound. Their song “RET” is an great example of thier unique style that they bring to the genre 

Currently Penguin rush has released three singles: “une” (2016), “yoasobi” (2017), and “Chorus” (2017). They also released debut album No size this past August.

NMB48 Says Good Bye To Their Captain In A Special Way!

Super idol group NMB48 announced the released date of their next single, “僕だって泣いちゃうよ” (“Boku datte Naichauyo”), being released on October 17. “僕だって泣いちゃうよ” will be Sayaka Yamamoto last single before she graduates from NMB48, As final sign off from the group all current members of NMB48 (71 at the time of this writing), will participate in the music video for the song.

Like previous 48 released the single will release with several editions with Yamamoto having a solo song titled , ”忘れて欲しい” (“Wasurete Hoshi”) in the Type-D edition of the single.

King & Prince Drops The Title And B-side Tracks For Their Second Single!

Six-member boy group King & Prince announced the title and accompanying songs for their upcoming second single, “Memorial”, being released on October 10. Along with “Memorial”, King & Prince include their latest song “High On Love!” and “Lover’s Delight” with the single. 

As previously mention “Memorial” will release with two limited editions, the A edition will include a DVD copy of the music videos and making of. While the B edition will include a DVD copy of a variety show which they participated in.
