Currently celebrating their 15th anniversary year, rock band BACK-ON release their latest single “Kill the Beat feat. JESSE” on July 30, along with a music video. The song is a collaboration with JESSE, frontman of revered rock bands RIZE and The BONEZ. It was JESSE who originally gave BACK-ON their name back when they began – BACK-ON being Japanese wordplay that means “explosive sound”. 

“Kill the Beat” is BACK-ON’s first ever collaboration song, produced with the intention of returning to the roots of rap-rock. JESSE and BACK-ON members KENJI03 and TEEDA sing and rap intertwining lines over a heavy beat that will transport you back to the music scene of the early 2000s.

A teaser “spot” video released ahead of the single features a clip of the song over vintage footage of BACK-ON and JESSE from earlier in their careers. It’s a rare and valuable glimpse into Japanese rap-rock history!

Art Collective Japone Artist Premiers Two Unique Music Video at HYPER JAPAN ONLINE!

European-Japanese art collective Japone Artists will be presenting two brand-new music videos, especially for the online event of HYPER JAPAN, making it a worldwide exclusive premiere. The two music videos, titled "Furusato" and "Toryanse" are the first music videos to premiere in 2021 for the performing art group. The group is proud to present them during HYPER JAPAN ONLINE 2021.

The first music video, "Furusato" will be premiered on Saturday 31 July 2021 at 20.00 CEST. Description: FURUSATO (The Earth): Japone Artists dedicated this music video to Mother Earth with their prayer for love and peace for the Earth, nature, and people.

The second music video, "Toryanse", will be premiered on Saturday 7 August 2021 at 14.00 CEST. Description: TORYANSE: This traditional Japanese children's song depicts a mother worshipping with her child at a shrine. But it has a terrifying and sad story behind the song. Japone Artists created an extraordinary music video based on this song!

In addition to the presentation of the music videos, there will be also an introduction, done by vocalist Utako Arakawa and an outro with the other members of Japone Artists. Yuma Uchida Brings a New Equal with his Upcoming Album!

Popular voice actor-turned-vocalist Yuma Uchida announced that he will be releasing a brand-new album, Equal, September 22. This will be the latest album release since HORIZON back in July of 2019 and will be his second album overall. The album was created with the concept of the symbol, =, "that connects Yuma Uchida and his fans. The work will include previously released singles “Rainbow," "Over," "SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE!" and "Comin' Back" and will contains a total of 13 songs, including 8 new tracks. The album will come with two editions: a CD-only standard edition and a limited edition that will come with a bonus Blu-ray. The Blu-ray will feature several music videos along with two dance edition videos for the tracks “Image” and "SHAKE! SHAKE! SHAKE!”

LIGHTERS Zings with Style in Upcoming Album!

Up-and-coming rock duo LIGHTERS announced that they will will be releasing a brand new album, swim in the milk, August 25 across all digital music streaming platforms. This will be the latest release done by the band since the mini-album bitter peanut butter back in December of last year and will be their first album overall. While putting out a distorted guitar like the band PAVEMENT that the duo love, LIGHTERS' specialty is the emotional style and pop melody.

The album is set to release with ten tracks total that will have listeners want to listen to over and over. Sota Hayashida of the band HAPPY was in charge of the support drum, Hiroshi Ikeda of hmc studio in charge of sound engineering , with Kohei Kamoto in charge of the sound production.

ReN Rebrands with Upcoming Album!

Vocalist ReN announced that he will be releasing a brand-new album, ReNBRANDT, September 8. This will be the latest album release by the vocalist since LIFE SAVER back in June of 2016 and will be his third album overall. This work includes the theme song "Running Forward" of the drama 今野敏サスペンス 警視庁強行犯係 樋口顕 (Konno Satoshi Suspense Keishichō Kyōkōhan Higuchi Ken) and the ending theme "We'll be fine" of 王様のブランチ (Ohsama no Brunch). "One Last Try," featuring English singer-songwriter Maisie Peters, will also be included. Unfortunately, there is not anymore additional information about the album at the time of reporting, except that it will release with a CD-only standard edition.
