Kaede Higuchi Reveals She's the Baddest of All in Upcoming Release!

Kaede Higuchi, a Virtual YouTuber who belongs to the Nijisanji group, has revealed an artist visual and CD jacket designs for her second major single “Baddest,” which will be released on August 25, 2021. The title track “Baddest,” is the opening theme of the second season of I’m Standing on a Million Lives, which will begin airing in July 2021. The artist visual, which depicts Kaede Higuchi riding on the palm of a Kaede Higuchi robot, was designed by illustrator and manga artist Hajime Ueda. The CD jacket designs have also been revealed. The limited first edition features the aforementioned artist visual, while the regular edition features artwork drawn by the I’m Standing on a Million Lives production team. 

Additionally, the Kaede Higuchi Live 2021 “AIM” Blu-ray, which contains footage of her solo concert held at TACHIKAWA STAGE GARDEN on February 19, 2021, will be released on the same day. Audio commentary by Kaede Higuchi, Mito Tsukino, and Rin Shizuka, the three members of JK Gumi, will be included as a bonus.

OLDCODEX Teams up with Free! Once Again with Upcoming Release!

Duo OLDCODEX, who previously performed the theme songs for the TV anime series Free! and the movie High Speed! Free! Starting Days, have been chosen again to perform the theme song of Free!-the Final Stroke Part 1. This as yet untitled song will also be released as a single on September 15.

Free!-the Final Stroke is a movie that serves as the final chapter of the TV anime series Free!, which has been running since 2013. The movie will be divided into two parts, which will be released on September 17, 2021, and April 22, 2022, respectively. Regarding their selection to sing the theme song, the members of OLDCODEX have released the comments below.

The new official store for Chinese-Japanese boys’ collective WARPs UP is now open, offering a selection of stylish items that make up the group’s very first goods collection. WARPs UP are part of the WARP-Syndicate, a project that pursues creativity beyond categories and boundaries. WARPs UP is a Chinese-Japanese unit within the WARP- Syndicate umbrella, and currently the two Chinese members – LANGYI and MINGJUN – are active.

The new store has launched with three available WARPs-UP items: a T-shirt in two color variations, a tote bag and a rubber keyholder. The stylish monotone designs offer a simplicity that is perfectly suited to a first collection. The latest song by WARPs UP, “Pleasure”, peaked at No.2 on the J-pop chart on one of China’s major music distribution platforms, and is the opening theme of the final season of the global hit anime series Fruits Basket. The final episode was broadcast recently, and just as fans were mourning the loss of their favorite show, WARPs UP put out a call for fan-made illustrations based on the members of the group, their music videos, and the lyrics to “Pleasure”. They received over 200 entries, which were then used to make a special music video packed with homemade artwork that shows the love of their fans. LANGYI and MINGJUN watched the video together with fans during a livestream event, and they were delighted to see so many wonderful illustrations of themselves and their bandmates. The video shows the passion of WARPs UP fans all around the world, and was a welcome reminder that the hearts of the fans are always connected – even though it is difficult to meet in person at this time.

WANIMA Opens Up the Kitchen Once Again With Upcoming Single!

Popular three-member rock band WANIMA announced that they will be releasing a brand new single, “Chopped Grill Chicken”, August 18. Set as the final piece of the “live set trilogy” the band has been building up toward with last September’s mini-album Cheddar Flavor and April’s single “Chilly Chili Sauce”, the band looks to carry that same out of this world energy as their previous two works. The single is set to include four songs including the new song “離れていても” (”Hanareteitemo”), which is only performed on the ongoing national tour Cheddar Flavor Tour 2021. It will also drop with two editions: a CD-only standard edition and a limited edition which will include an additional DVD. The DVD is set to feature the performance of Cheddar Flavor Tour 2021 that was held on June 14 in Tokyo’s Zepp TOKYO.

THE ALFEE Bring a 2nd Life With Upcoming Single!

Long-running three-member rock band THE ALFEE announced that they will be releasing a brand new single, “The 2nd Life -第二の選択-“ (“Daini no Sentaku”), July 28. This will be the latest release by the band since their single “Joker -眠らない街-“ (“Nemuranai Machi”) back in December of last year and will be the band’s 70th single overall. The title song sings the splendor of trying again and again without giving up even if one fails, and the preciousness of life which is only lived once. About this song, Toshihiko Takamizawa said, "I have only one life, but I want to try and redo it as many times as I want. I hope this will be a song of hope for life after the pandemic.”

The single will be released with three tracks, including the instrumental for “The 2nd Life -Daini no Sentaku”, and with four editions, all of which are CD-only, with the three limited editions having special packaging for the release. The third coupling track will feature different tracks from their 俺たちの武道館 (Oretachi no Budoukan) live concert which took place last year.
