Hump Back Comes Back with A Chatter For Upcoming Album!

Three-member female rock band Hump Back announced that they will be releasing a brand new album, ACHATTER, August 4. This will be the latest release by the girls since their single “Teenage Sunset” back in August of last year and will be their second full-length album. This work contains a total of 14 songs, all tracks—except “閃光” (”Senkou”), a song included on "Teenage Sunset"—newly recorded. The album will drop with only a CD-only standard edition. In addition, Hump Back will hold a one-man live tour, Hump Back pre. ACHATTER tour, to commemorate the album release from September. If you reserve an album CD at the target store within the time period, you will receive "Hump Back Chopsticks" in addition to the lottery application ticket for the release tour.

Takuma Terashima Breaks Out With Upcoming Single!

Popular voice actor-turned-vocalist Takuma Terashima announced that he will be releasing a brand new single, “Reincarnate”, August 25. This will be the latest release by the vocalist since his album ASSEMBLE back in March of last year and will be his eleventh single overall. The track is currently being used as the ending theme song for the popular fantasy animeThat Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Season 2), which Terashima also stars in. The lyrics were written by Terashima himself and the composition and arrangement were done by R ・ O ・ N. The coupling will include the theme song "Phantom Lights" for the series’ smartphone game app scheduled to be released in 2021. The single will drop with two editions: a CD-only standard edition and a limited edition which will come with a bonus Blu-ray.

MY FIRST STORY Brings Confession With Upcoming Single!

Four-member rock band MY FIRST STORY announced that they will be releasing a brand new single, “告白” (“Kokuhaku”), July 14. This will be the latest release by the band since their digital single “LEADER” back in January and will be their eighth single overall. The work will come with a CD-only standard edition and, in addition, it will come with three tracks including the coupling song “I’m a mess" and a cover of vocalist Eve's popular tune "廻廻奇譚” (“Kaikai Kitan”).

SCANDAL Bring a New Shade of Ivory with Latest Music Video!

Popular four-member pop-rock band SCANDAL has released the video to new single “Ivory” today – the band's second single of their 15th anniversary year! The two-track single is available to download / stream.

SCANDAL has reached legendary status in Japan where all nine of their studio albums have ranked in the charts at position five or higher. This latest single is written, composed and sung by SCANDAL's powerful guitarist MAMI, and co-arranged by the musician Kohei Munemoto (KAT-TUN, KinKi Kids, Mika Nakashima), and also features an acoustic version of the track performed entirely by MAMI.

“Ivory” music video, which features MAMI playing guitar in a bathtub in the middle of a skate park, was directed by Yuki Wakisaka. The movie director, cinematographer and photographer has worked with numerous artists (including PassCode's 'ONE STEP BEYOND', MAN WITH A MISSION's “Change the World”, and TK from Ling tosite sigure's “copy light”) and captures SCANDAL as their most natural, current selves.

The cover art for the single and cassette also sees the return of art director Junya Handa, who also worked on prior single “eternal”.

To celebrate the release, our friend at JPU Records has released a special edition tape cassette featuring both versions of the track, as well as a translation and transliteration of the lyrics. This edition is limited strictly to 100 copies and will not be re-pressed. It’s available to order today while stock lasts. It’s best to order quick as the previous single sold out fast.

Fishmans Celebrate their 30th Anniversary With Vinyl Editions of First Three Albums!

Fishmans debuted their single “Hikouki” on the 21st of April in 1991. To commemorate their 30th anniversary, Fishmans announced the release of their earlier albums as heavyweight vinyl LP remastered with high-resolution audio on the 4th of August.

The albums include their first album Chappie, Don’t Cry, their second album King Master George and their third album Neo Yankees’ Holiday. They are also all 180g vinyl LP for the first time.

Fishmans is a very unique and distinctive band in Japan. Their music is influenced by reggae, dub and rocksteady. They blend elements of rock, funk and hip hop as well. The result is very special and the sounds are uniquely hybrid.

Lead singer Shinji Sato was the group’s principal songwriter and he was an amazing front man and vocalist like no other, but he unfortunately passed away in 1999.

After his death many famous artists in Japan covered their signature song “Ikareta Baby” and many other musicians, creators and listener’s of new generations keep loving their music now in the 21st century.

Kin-ichi Motegi as an original band member and the current drummer of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra has been playing the songs made by Shinji Sato. 

Fishmans’ music is spread inside and outside of Japan and gains more new fans through music video distribution and subscription services.

As a result of growing popularity, a 172 minute long documentary film Movie : Fishmans was made after being crowdfunded and it will be released in Japan from the 9th of July.

At the same time, PONY CANYON Inc. and UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN

are releasing Fishmans’ whole body of work left in their less than 10 years of producing. Their new and old fans can see their journey.

Famous sound engineer “zAk” who was the key person in creating Fishmans’ sound and a popular technically skilled engineer KIMKEN (Kentaro Kimura) remastered those albums and made high-resolution audio in 2016.

This time this sound source was used as the master for the vinyl record. It is also a heavyweight 180g vinyl for the first time.
