Reina Ueda Welcomes Fans to Her Nebula With Upcoming Album!

Popular voice actress-turned-vocalist Reina Ueda announced that she will be releasing a brand new album, Nebula, August 18. This will be latest release by the vocalist since her single “Literature” back in October of last year and will be her second album overall. Not much information has been revealed at the time of reporting but it is known that ten songs will be included in this work and that only a CD-only standard edition will be available. Details such as recorded content will be announced at a later date. Following her previous work, Ueda thought about the theme and produced it, and was very particular about the jacket artwork for the release.

Along with the album announcement, Ueda also announced that a Blu-ray of her performance Reina Ueda 1st LIVE Imagination Colors, held at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (Shibuya Public Hall) in Tokyo back in March, will be released this fall.

BOYS AND MEN Keeps Chugging Along With Latest Music Video!

Popular eight-member boy group BOYS AND MEN released the music video for their track “New Challenger” on their YouTube channel. Set for release July 28, this will be the latest release by the group since their album BOYMEN the Universe back in January and will be their 25th single overall. “New Challenger” is currently set as the theme song of robot anime 新幹線変形ロボ シンカリオンZ (Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z). The highlight of the music video is the appearance of the members dancing "Z Dance" which was choreographed by the famous Lucky Ikeda. The video features various colorful images throughout.

The single will drop with three editions: a CD-only standard edition and three limited editions simply called Types A, B, and C. Types A and B will come with a bonus DVD which will feature the music video and making-of, along with their 10th anniversary BARI BARI★PARTY live concert that took place in Kobe. Type C will include special packaging featuring Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z.

Appare! Brings it Around With Upcoming Single!

Seven-member female idol group Appare! announced that they will be releasing a brand new single July 2. Currently untitled at the time of reporting, this will be the latest release by the group since their album Appare! Parade back in March and will be the group’s first single overall. This will also be the first single since their name was changed from Appare! Harajuku to their current group name, and details regarding the title and recorded songs will be announced later. Also, on May 15, an event to commemorate the release of this work will be held at LaQua Garden Stage in Tokyo.

≠ME Surprises Everyone With Brand New Single!

Newly debuting idol group ≠ME announced that they will be releasing their first single July 14. This will be their latest release since their major debut mini-album 超特急 ≠ME行き (Cho Tokkyu ≠ MEIki)  back in April and it will be their first single. The announcement was posted on their Twitter account to inform members that the next release has been decided. ≠ members gathered after being told that they were shooting comments for the first concert to be held at Nakano Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo on June 1, and they screamed with surprise when they were informed of the release of their first single. “It was only three months after the release of Cho Tokkyu ≠ MEIki, so I was delighted while shouting “Cho Tokkyu! Cho Tokkyu Sugiru (“Bullet Train! Super Express!”)”, a member recounted. At the end of the video, the members said, "I will do my best to deliver a wonderful single to everyone! Please look forward to it!" to fans, smiling. Currently no other information was made available at the time of reporting, but the single will come with two editions labeled Type A and Type B and they will come with a bonus DVD.

Ki/oon Music Hypes Up Anniversary With Style With Monthly Playlist!

To celebrate the 30th year anniversary of their label in 2022, Ki/oon Music teamed up with both Spotify and Apple Music to create the Dig Ki/oon playlist. In Dig Ki / oon, Ki / oon Music staff selects songs with their artists based on a certain theme, a playlist for every month. It will include tracks that dig deep into the roots of the artists. Dig Ki / oon -Fes- will feature playlists unique to Ki / oon artists’ songs that frequently appeared at various music festivals.

This month's playlist is based on the theme of "May's Pain”, titled Melancholy. PELICAN FANCLUB's vocalist-guitarist End Alien was involved in the song selection. The four members of ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION also have a playlist which includes "songs from other artists who have become their own roots of inspiration” and "our own songs that strongly reflect those roots.”
