Top Gun for NEWS!

Four-member idol group NEWS announced they will be releasing brand new double A-side single “Top Gun/Love Story”. “Top Gun” is being used as the intro theme for drama series Yotsuba Ginko Harashima Hiromi ga Mono Mosu! - Kono Hito ni Kakero - and will be released June 12.

”Top Gun/Love Story” is being released in three editions. The standard edition with be CD-only but both of the other editions will be limited editions that come with DVDs. The first limited edition will feature a third track titled “weeeek -Represent NEWS Mix-”, the DVD will include a music clip along with a making-of video, and there will also be a twelve-page booklet. The second limited edition with feature a third track titled “夢の数だけ愛が生まれる-Represent NEWS Mix-” (“Yume no kazu dake ai ga umareru-Represent NEWS Mix-”), the DVD will feature the music video for “Love Story” and various clips with each group member, and a twelve-page booklet will also be included. Limited editions will be limited to one per person. There will also be a bundle set which combines all of the editions.

MOMOIRO CLOVER Z takes interesting tactic for upcoming music video!

Four-member idol group MOMOIRO CLOVER Z dropped a small music video preview for their newest track “魂のたべもの” (“Tamashi no Tabemono”) on their official YouTube channel. “Tamashi no Tabemono” will be released on the group’s upcoming self-titled album MOMOIRO CLOVER Z May 17. 

“Tamashi no Tabemono” was written by Yuho Iwasato and composed by Masaru Yokoyma. The pair wanted to craft a maturer theme of “darkness of the heart” for “Tamashi no Tabemono”.  To reach the full potential of that specific theme, MOMOIRO CLOVERZ employed a small string orchestra to play the tempo for the song, a rarity in the idol genre. Several beautiful scenes of nature with smoky outlined images of MOMOIRO CLOVER Z and the orchestra are interspersed throughout the video.

MOMOIRO CLOVER Z will be released with three editions: a standard CD-only edition and two limited editions, Type A and Type B. Type A will include an additional Blu-ray and not only feature the music videos of several songs but also their live “Seishun” which took place in Nakano’s Sun Plaza Hall with full audio commentary from the idols. Type B, on the other hand, will feature an additional CD that will include “ZZ” versions of the group’s past hits.

Hello! Project's BEYOOOOONDS reveals debut single!

Hello! Project’s sister group BEYOOOOONDS announced that they will be releasing their debut single August 7. Consisting of twelve members, BEYOOOOONDS is one of the more recent additions to the Hello! Project family. The debut single will be a triple A-side single and so far only the title for the first tack has been revealed: “Megane no Otoko no Ko”.

“Megane no Otoko no Ko” will be released in a total of six editions. The finer details have yet to be revealed but there will be three versions of the standard edition which comes with a CD and a random trading card of thirteen different kinds of jacket (thirty-nine cards in total). There will be three versions of the limited edition which will come with both a CD and a DVD along with an event lottery serial number card. IZ*ONE goes South American for second single

Popular twelve-member idol group IZ*ONE announced that they will be dropping a new single June 26. “Buenos Aires” will be the latest single for the idol group and their second Japanese single overall.

“Buenos Aires” will be released in a staggering sixteen editions. Edition A will include both a CD and DVD along with the Edition B. There will also be a bundle for both the A & B Edition. The other thirteen editions will be what is being referred to as the “WIZ*ONE” editions; there is a “WIZ*ONE” for each member of the group.

Tomohisa Yamashita gives us a "Change" with new single

Tomohisa Yamashita, more famously know as Yamapi, is a Japanese male pop vocalist, actor, and former member of the group NEWS. On Natalie it was announced that he will be bringing us a new single, “Change”, which will drop June 19! “Change” will serve as the theme for the TBS Japanese drama In Hand which will also star Tomohisa Yamashita-san. Yamashita-san comments, “If you can listen to your heart and follow your passion while keeping your conviction strong and not get swept away by the world, you can change the future for the better.” He said that he “wrote and wrote the lyrics with all [his] heart so [he] could be someone’s hope”.
